Schedule A Hiring Authority:

Schedule A, 5 CFR 213.3102(u), known as Schedule A hiring authority, is an excepted service hiring authority used to appoint persons with severe physical, psychiatric, and/or intellectual disabilities. Such individuals may qualify for conversion to permanent status after two years of satisfactory service.

Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen, national or legal permanent resident. Non-citizens may apply. (Must be U.S. citizen prior to conversion to competitive appointment)
  • You are eligible for Schedule A if you are a person with severe physical disability, a psychiatric disability or an intellectual disability.
