Your first days (and weeks) will be full of activities to in-process and onboard you into the agency. You will be required to complete several actions and forms designed to ensure your successful transition.
We have created an onboarding checklist to assist you in the onboarding process. Using the checklist and accessing the helpful websites in this document will guide you through the entire onboarding process. Please reach out to your HR point of contact with any questions.
How to Use the Onboarding Checklist
This document serves as a list of tasks for the agency and you to complete, with corresponding timelines. While many of the listed items are transactional (i.e., completing a form), most items involve having important discussions with your supervisor in order to prepare you with the foundational knowledge of the FRTIB's mission and organization. Use this document in partnership with your supervisor and HR to ensure you receive all of the necessary and beneficial tools and information. Please note: Some of the links are not accessible outside of the agency's network.

Federal Employees Forms
Prior to your report date several new hire forms are required to be completed in order for the agency to create your personnel and payroll records. To help facilitate forms completion we have created a forms checklist (Appendix A of the Onboarding Checklist), and all forms you may need for in-processing are listed below. Download and save each form; email your completed forms to the HR Specialist listed in your offer letter.

Prior to your report date you will need to complete required training in order to be granted access to the FRTIB's network and systems, and to be issued IT equipment. Please visit the following websites to complete the required training at least 14 days prior to your report date. If you do not return the proofs of completion before you report your IT access will be delayed. Follow the instructions in your welcome email from Human Resources for where to return each proof of completion.
NOTE TO NEW HIRES ABOUT ACCEPTABLE SIGNATURES:
Only the following types of signatures will be accepted:
- Digital signature using the certificate from a PIV card
- Signature using a stylus or finger on a touch screen
- Wet signature that is scanned in
The following types of signatures will not be accepted:
- Typing a signature (i.e. In Adobe using the signature tool and typing the name that appears as a cursive font)
- Digital signature that is not tied to the federal certificate authority

Federal Orientation Materials
The morning of your report date will be filled with activities to in-process you into our agency. You will receive your Oath of Office, receive briefings from various program offices and a tour of our workspace. To help orient you to the agency we have gathered information to support the new hire experience. Information contained in this section will help acclimate you to the agency with topics ranging from the dress code to the agency’s strategic vision. Contact your supervisor or your HR Specialist POC if you have additional questions.
